first life drawing class

went to no vacancy last night. some left handed, some right. poses varied from 30 seconds to 20 minutes. this is what i did.

buying beautiful things even though i've stopped working for the time being. little graphic novel from my favourite bookstore (the paperback, 60 bourke st)

and inspired by seeing lots of german films as part of the festival (running until april 18th) i went out and bought myself some of goethe's poems, a german translation of the little prince and penguin short stories (in both english and german!)

...it wasn't on a complete whim... i do learn german.. 

but two films i highly recommend: 'goethe!' silly and romantic! and 'vincent will meer' the music really lets it down but it's still excellent! funny, yet reals brutal!

 
and oh my! this exhibition! my friends katie and kim and some other people too. the opening was last friday. so much fun! the townhouses and parking lot experiments played. glitter everywhere and overwhelming art. beautiful (yes i bought something from it too... goodbye savings account)

my lovely friend sarah (http://sarahmcneil.blogspot.com) sent me a package with some stickers (also some by mel stringer) and postcards and nice things...
i haven't been able to write letters lately so haven't been receiving many but sometimes friends surprise you!
i made one of her stickers into a necklace with cardboard and more gold paint

maybe just the easy way out

gold paint fun. had a really lovely night friday. remembered how to dance and smile at the same time. a lot of people i love in the one space.

will be necklaces. made one for indra already

usin acrylic on paperboard. tesselating shapes. but maybe that isn't the right word seeing as they're not identical. abstract tetris. fun. will make a pyramid - volcano style next time. i glued the two above triangles together so that the coloured side is vertical and the grey is horizontal (lying flat on a table)... thus reflecting each other, ja? also, a photo from my house. my dad gave me a camera last night that he bought for me for christmas... and lost... until now. thanks pops!

taping the german news

cardboard triangles moving in waves in over us, mutating lust. bat wings flashing fast, full moon to the last. your socks match your face, wrap them round my waist. inadequate pressure like metal slipping between skin and muscle. let me feel. i want to feel, but physical communication screaming negative prevents success. crippling anxiousness. confuse, bruise, muse, lose, enthuse. congealed hard minerals in place of neural connection and positive affection.

photos from june last year. helped film a clip for 'love connection' that was never released. we ran through paddocks and trees and took flying leaps from trampolines with white + red face paint and big plastic ponchos. michael made us the most delicious vegetarian tacos i've ever had.
